Fashion retailers have a hard time selling a city.
While it’s great to be able to make a living selling clothes in a small town, it’s a hard sell to the fashion world.
It’s not just that cities are boring, it feels like the design and aesthetics are being ignored.
That’s a shame.
We’ve all been there.
In a recent Fashionista interview, fashion designer and illustrator Maira Zepeda shared her experiences as a designer working in the fashion industry.
“I’ve been in a city a lot of my life, but never in a big city.
So when I started designing in Toronto I was like, ‘This is the most boring city I’ve ever been in.
It has a certain way of living.
I’m a city girl.’
A lot of people don’t realize that designers in Toronto, when they start out, have a lot more to offer than they have in the industry.
We’re working in a world that is saturated with brands and people who have done everything from advertising to designing.
So it’s just not the same as the big city, but it’s really, really exciting.”
She went on to say that Toronto was the only city she had ever worked in that was “always full of people and always full of things that are unique, and always fun to design.”
“And that’s why I love it,” she said.
“If you’re going to do something that is not only beautiful, but fun, then you have to think outside the box.”
So, to help designers get in touch with the world of design, here are some tips to help you make it as a Toronto designer.
